NOTRE DAME COLLEGE OUTSTANDING ATHLETE AWARDS

The Notre Dame College Outstanding Athlete Awards, proudly sponsored by the Marist Basketball Club, is presented to two students each semester who demonstrate good role model behaviour, commitment to academic performance, who embrace the NDC values and have outstanding results in the NDC Sports Academy Program and/or when representing NDC at Inter School Sport.

The 2024 Semester Two winners are:

Jack Gospel (Year 11) – Jack has dominated School distance running events like few before him, breaking long standing records and winning State medals. He finished 1st at the Goulburn Murray (GMD) & Hume Region (HR) 3km Cross Country events and won a bronze medal at the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Cross Country Championships. He finished 1st at the NDC, GMD & HR 800m & 1500m events and at the SSV State Championships, won a silver medal in the 800m event and a bronze medal in the 1500m event. Jack broke the 800m record at the NDC & HR Carnivals and the 1500m record at the NDC & GMD Carnivals.

Annabelle Novac (Year 10) – Annabelle has shown a strong commitment to improve in all aspects of the Sports Academy program in 2024 and has been involved in the program since it began. She has continued to push herself in the strength and conditioning sessions which have helped her achieve great success on the athletics track this year. She has upheld the NDC values as well as the Sports Academy values of Kindness, Encouragement and Commitment. Her commitment and dedication to her sport resulted in her being crowned SSV State Champion at the 16yo 100m Hurdles event.
